3 Men Dead in Carmel Suspected DUI Crash on Highway 1

 
CARMEL, CA (May 24, 2021) — Three men died in a suspected DUI accident on Highway 1 near Carmel Valley Road Friday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car crash happened on Carmel Valley Road. For possible DUI reasons, a driver in a 2018 Chevy Silverado, heading westbound, failed to properly take a turn. As a result, the truck crashed into a street light pillar and a rock wall at the intersection.
 
Due to the accident, three men, all of whom were not wearing their seatbelts, died in the crash. As of now, authorities have described them as a 34-year-old driver from Montana, a 30-year-old passenger from Washington and another 30-year-old from Arkansas.
 
According to investigations, alcohol and speed may have played as factors in this fatal crash. However, if anyone has more information, please contact the CHP.
