Wrong-Way Driver Causes Fatal Car Crash on 80 Freeway in Davis

 
DAVIS, CA (September 27, 2022) – Three people were killed in a wrong-way accident on 80 Freeway in Davis early Sunday morning, September 25.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:10 p.m. just west of Richards Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, an Infiniti sedan was driving east in a westbound lane of the freeway when it crashed head-on into a Hyundai sedan.
 
As a result, the two drivers and a passenger in the Infiniti all died at the scene. Two others in the Infiniti, men in their 30s from Oakland and Sacramento, suffered major injuries and were taken to UC Davis Medical Center.
 
The driver of the Infiniti was a 31-year-old Fairfield woman. The passenger killed was a 27-year-old woman from Fairfield. A 30-year-old Petaluma man was driving the Hyundai.
 
The CHP said alcohol was a possible factor in the crash. They asked witnesses to call the CHP non-emergency line at 800-835-5247 or the Solano-area office at 707-639-5600.
