3 Hurt in Solo-Car Crash on Highway 120 in Oakdale

OAKDALE, CA (January 10, 2023) — Three people suffered minor to major injuries in a solo-car accident on Highway 120 near Lancaster Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the single-car crash happened around 7:10 p.m. Saturday. As a 23-year-old driver operating a westbound 2000 Audi at speeds about 70 miles per hour tried to pass another vehicle, the driver lost control. The Audi hydroplaned and veered to the left before overturning.

At some point during the crash, the unbelted driver was ejected from the vehicle.

Paramedics arrived moments later and brought the driver to Doctors Medical Center for treatment. His 27-year-old and 19-year-old passengers suffered only minor injuries and did not require hospital transport.

At this time, authorities do not know if DUI played a factor. Although, an ongoing investigation should confirm the details.

Driving during heavy rainfall makes the road more dangerous. It’s important to slow down and drive carefully. Your tires may not be fit to tackle puddles and dips in the road with wet road conditions. Use your windshield wipers and slow down.
