3 Hurt in Redding 2-Car Crash on Highway 299

 
REDDING, CA (January 13, 2022) — Three people were injured in a car accident on Highway 299 near Churn Creek Road on Tuesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 9:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a pickup truck heading eastbound on the highway stalled and lost its electric power, including its lights.
 
Subsequently, an eastbound oncoming Shasta County Deputy approached the vehicle and collided with it.
 
Due to the accident, two people inside the truck and the deputy suffered minor injuries and required hospital care at Mercy Medical. At this time, detectives have not released information on what caused the truck to stall. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm the outstanding details.
