Vaccination Site at Soka University Closed After Car Crashes into Drive-Through Line

 
ALISO VIEJO, CA (April 28, 2021) — Three people suffered injuries after a car plowed through the vaccination site at Soka university Sunday morning.
 
According to the OC Health Care Agency, the incident occurred at about 10:00 a.m. in the drive-through line for patients getting COVID-19 vaccines. A car waiting in line suddenly accelerated and subsequently crashed into a tent and several outdoor restrooms in the area.
 
The tent fell on to three other vehicles. Additionally, three people sustained injuries, including the driver of the car that accelerated. All of them received treatment in a hospital for minor injuries.
 
Officials had to shut down the vaccination site temporarily but said there were no delays experienced by people getting their vaccines on Sunday. They also had people waiting in their cars taken inside to continue with their appointments.
 
Meanwhile, it was not immediately clear what caused the car to accelerate but the investigation is ongoing.
