Car Crashes on Highway 193 and Catches Fire Killing Both Teen Driver and Teen Passenger

 
NEWCASTLE, CA (July 25, 2022) – Two teenagers died in a fiery car accident on Highway 193 in Newcastle late Thursday evening, July 21.
 
The accident happened just after 11:00 p.m. near Dutch Court. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Mini Cooper was traveling westbound on the highway when it lost control and crashed off the roadway.
 
It then struck a tree and burst into flames.
 
An 18-year-old male from Lincoln was driving the car, while a 16-year-old male from Loomis was the passenger. Both suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Authorities believe speed was a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
