2 Dead in Bakersfield Head-On Crash on Wheeler Ridge Road

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 30, 2021) — Two people died in a head-on accident on Wheeler Ridge Road near Valpredo Road on Tuesday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-car crash happened around 10:15 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 28-year-old driver in a 2017 Acura drove from the northbound lane into the southbound lane. Subsequently, the Acura collided head-on with a southbound 2008 Honda on Wheeler Ridge Road.
 
Due to the nature of the crash, the 28-year-old driver and 34-year-old driver of the Honda suffered fatal injuries. Soon after, paramedics responded and rushed four people, including three children ages 3, 5 and 9 years old, to Kern Medical in Bakersfield.
 
At this time, officers do not suspect DUI to have played a role in this fatal crash. However, the crash remains under investigation.
