Head-On Crash on Avenue 9 in Madera County Kills 2 and Injures 2 Others
MADERA COUNTY, CA (December 26, 2022) – Two men were killed in a head-on accident on Avenue 9 in Madera County Thursday morning.
The fatal accident happened around 6:45 a.m. on December 22, just near Children’s Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda Civic was speeding eastbound when it went into the westbound lane and crashed head-on with a Toyota Corolla.
As a result, the 28-year-old male driver of the Civic died at the scene. He was unrestrained.
Paramedics took the driver of the Corolla and a passenger to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, a third passenger was transported to Valley Children’s Hospital, where he later died.
All the occupants of the Corolla were from Clovis and appeared to be related.
Officials said that the use of alcohol and/or drugs by the driver of the Honda Civic is still under investigation.
