As a result, the Ford traveled off the road and struck a fire hydrant. Subsequently, the driver drove in the center median and struck two trees before colliding head-on with a northbound 2018 Lexus ES350.

Due to the crash, both drivers, including the 50-year-old Escondido resident operating the Lexus, suffered life-threatening injuries.
