Speeding Car Crashes into Backyard Pool in Chino, Killing Two

 
CHINO, CA (July 12, 2021) – Two people were killed and one sustained injuries when a car crashed into a backyard pool near Schaefer Avenue and East End Avenue early Wednesday morning.
 
The crash happened around 2:20 a.m. on July 7. According to the Chino Police Department, an orange Chevrolet Corvette sedan was speeding south on Schaefer when it failed to negotiate a turn and struck a center median. It then flew over and plunged into a home’s swimming pool, damaging a perimeter wall and ejecting all three occupants.
 
A 21-year-old woman died at the scene.
 
Paramedics transported two others, a 27-year-old man and 23-year-old woman, to a hospital where the man later succumbed to his injuries.
 
The injured woman remained at the hospital in serious condition. None of the victims were identified.
 
At this time, it is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
