2 Hospitalized in Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 18 in San Bernardino

 
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (December 8, 2022) — Two people were injured in a wrong-way accident on Highway 18 near Old Waterman Canyon Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle collision happen around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. For unknown reasons, a driver was heading in the wrong direction as captured on a dashcam of a vehicle. The driver of the car with the dash cam reportedly crashed into the wrong-way car, causing the vehicle to end up on its side.
 
According to witnesses, the SUV driver reportedly made a U-turn and began heading in the wrong direction before the impact.
 
As a result of the crash, two people suffered unknown injuries, and crews closed the northbound lanes, drawing a backup of vehicles heading up the mountain.
 
At this time, it’s unclear whether impairment played a role, but an investigation into the crash should confirm more details.
