2 Hurt in Canyon Country Police Pursuit Accident on Sierra Highway

 
CANYON COUNTRY, CA (May 18, 2021) — Two people suffered major injuries in a police chase accident on Sierra Highway at Vasquez Canyon Road Monday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers tried to make a traffic stop on a driver whose headlights were turned off.
 
However, the driver failed to stop and led the police on a brief pursuit. Not long after, the vehicle crashed into a light post, overturned and burst into flames. Soon after, paramedics arrived and freed two of the trapped occupants from the vehicle. From there, emergency personnel airlifted them to a hospital with major injuries.
