Five-Vehicle Accident on Highway 12/121 in Napa County Slows Down Traffic
NAPA COUNTY, CA (August 9, 2021) — A multi-vehicle accident on Highway 12/121 injured 2 people in Napa County Thursday morning.
The California Highway Patrol reported that five vehicles collided at about 6:35 a.m. near Haire Lane and the Sonoma County border.
Based on preliminary findings, two cars traveling in opposite directions initially sideswiped each other. A third motorist tried to avoid the collision but lost control, subsequently slammed on a guardrail, and then ended up on the shoulder. Another vehicle was sideswiped. The fifth vehicle following the fourth vehicle was rear-ended.
Officials said paramedics took two people with minor injuries to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Also, the collision resulted in the slowdown of rush hour traffic between Napa County and Sonoma County. All lanes reopened at 8:27 a.m.
