2 Hurt in Hit-and-Run Head-On Crash near 5th Street in Hermosa Beach
HERMOSA BEACH, CA (October 14, 2024) — Two people were injured in a hit-and-run head-on accident near 5th Street and Pacific Coast Highway.
According to the Hermosa Beach Police Department, the two-car crash happened around 7:00 p.m. Friday. For an unknown reason, a driver was traveling on the wrong side of Pacific Coast Highway. Subsequently, the driver struck another vehicle head-on.
Instead of pulling over to help, the driver fled on foot but was captured three hours later when a Hermosa Beach Police Officer spotted the bloodied man walking on the road. Authorities arrested the individual, believing the suspect’s likely involvement with the crash.
As for the other driver, paramedics treated him or her at the scene.
