2 Hurt, Vehicle Crashes off Highway 1 in San Mateo County
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA (January 3, 2023) — Two people were injured after a car crashed off Highway 1 near Devil’s Slide Monday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle crash happened around 10:50 a.m. Monday. For unknown reasons, a Tesla occupied by four people veered off the road and plunged off a cliff, estimated to be about 250 feet down.
Soon after, paramedics responded and extricated two juveniles and airlifted them to a hospital. Two others, described as adults, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were believed to be in critical condition earlier that day.
Authorities do not know what drove the crash or the factors leading to it. Although, if anyone has more information, please call the CHP.
