Van Accident on Highway 101 Leaves 2 People Injured

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (April 27, 2021) – Two people suffered injuries in a camper van accident on Highway 101 Sunday afternoon.
According to officials, the crash happened between the area of Orcutt and Los Alamos. The camper van was the only vehicle involved in the incident.
Reports indicated that the van crashed and rolled over on northbound Highway 101 near the summit of Solomon Grade at about 12:38 p.m. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found two people trapped in the vehicle.
Additionally, there were reports that a dog was also in the roadway after the crash. However, updates on the dog’s current condition were not available.
Both directions of Highway 101 were shut down to give way for the emergency responders and clearing crew. All lanes of the highway have since reopened.
Due to their nature and complexity, highways often become the scenes of an accident. When driving through one, stay alert and be vigilant of the condition of the road. Drive within the prescribed speed limit and always put your seat belts on. Additionally, never drink and drive, and take proper breaks after every couple of hours of continuous driving.
