Vehicle Launches Off 5 Freeway after Car Accident in Newhall

 
NEWHALL, CA (February 4, 2021) – Two people sustained injuries in a car accident on 5 Freeway, Monday January 25.
 
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the incident happened at about 10:50 a.m. A white Ford Mustang went over the side of the 5 Freeway and fell approximately 30 feet down an embankment near Weldon Canyon Road.
 
Emergency responders later located the overturned vehicle in a forested area near The Old Road.
 
Paramedics transported two people to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. Authorities did not release the names of the victims.
 
The condition of the victims was unknown as of Monday morning.
 
California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
