OAKLAND, CA (September 21, 2021) — Two children were among 10 injured in a DUI crash on 38th Avenue at International Boulevard Thursday evening.
 
According to news reports, the crash happened on September 9 around 8:30 p.m. For DUI reasons, a driver in an eastbound Pontiac G6 collided with a northbound minivan. Due to the impact, a 2-year-old and a 9-year-old were thrown from the van and brought to a hospital for care.
 
According to Oakland Police, the driver of the Pontiac tried to flee, but nearby residents held onto him until officers arrived. Following the crash, police arrested the driver for DUI and hit-and-run.
