2 Detained, Police Pursuit Ends When Car Smashes Into Building at Arrow Highway in Covina

 
COVINA, CA (February 16, 2023) — Police arrested two people following Monday’s police chase when the car crashed into a building at Arrow Highway and D Street.
 
According to Covina Police, a two-officer unit tried to make a traffic stop on a vehicle for making a code violation around 12:30 a.m. The driver, however, did not comply but led officers on a 15-minute chase from Grand Avenue and Cienega Street to the city of La Verne. The car reached excessive speeds during the crash until it struck a commercial building at Arrow Highway and D Street.
 
Subsequently, three people from the vehicle left the scene but two of them were captured during a perimeter search.
 
Arriving officers found the car’s hood inside the building and a fire broke out. However, the sprinklers inside the building helped keep the flames from spreading.
 
Authorities did not say whether they captured the third individual, but more information on this accident will be available once we receive more details.
