19-Year-Old Alan Reyes Charged in Deadly DUI Crash on Highway 99 near Florin Road
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 17, 2021) — Alan Reyes has been charged in Saturday’s fatal DUI accident on Highway 99 near Florin Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash happened around 1:50 a.m. In the investigation, detectives say 19-year-old Reyes was speeding in the far-right lane, approaching slower traffic. The Roseville man reportedly veered to the right but struck a sign and a chain-link fence. Subsequently, the Chevy Silverado truck traveled to the center divider and ejected a passenger before it collided with a van.
Following the impact, an SUV, driven by a 35-year-old Sacramento man, had swerved to avoid the crash but struck the ejected passenger and center divider.
Shortly after, paramedics responded and transported the ejected passenger to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Tragically, the 31-year-old Sacramento man driving the van died in the accident.
Meanwhile, officers arrested Reyes for DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. Yet, if anyone has additional information on this crash, please contact the Sacramento police officers.
