Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Highway 198 in Tulare County

 
TULARE COUNTY, CA (August 10, 2022) – An 18-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 198 in Tulare County early Tuesday morning, August 9.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:00 a.m. at Road 192, just north of Exeter. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 51-year-old Visalia woman was driving on the highway when she struck the male teen who was standing in the fast lane.
 
The impact caused the pedestrian fatal injuries and he died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the driver sustained minor injuries from the crash.
 
Crews closed one eastbound lane of Highway 198 for about three hours for the investigation. It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
