17-Year-Old Finnegan Osbaldeston Dead, Bryan Griffiths Hurt in Multi-Car Crash on Highland Drive at Highway 1

 
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (September 15, 2021)Finnegan Osbaldeston died in a multi-car accident on Highland Drive at Highway 1 Saturday morning.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-vehicle accident happened around 6:45 a.m. near Cal Poly. For unknown reasons, 79-year-old Bryan Griffiths ran a red traffic light. As a result, his Ford F-150 broadsided a 1990 Volvo 240 on its driver side, killing Finnegan Lee Hartford Osbaldeston.
 
Due to the impact, the Volvo struck a third vehicle waiting for the light, leaving the 50-year-old female driver of that model with minor injuries.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded and transported Griffiths and 17-year-old Osbaldeston to a hospital where Osbaldeston succumbed to his injuries.
 
At this time, CHP we’ll investigate the details of this accident. Therefore, any witnesses with more information should contact the department.
