One Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99 in Biggs
BIGGS, CA (February 10, 2021) – A 17-year-old driver struck and killed a pedestrian in an accident on Highway 99 on February 5.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Pryde Avenue at approximately 9:30 PM.
Based on a report, a 59-year-old man was crossing the street at the time of the crash. The minor attempted to avoid him but because of the older man’s dark clothing, he was not able to do so.
As a result, the pedestrian died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name pending kin notification.
At this point, the CHP says drugs or alcohol were not a factor. However, officials continue to investigate the case.
