Teen Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver near North Harbor Drive in Oceanside

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (January 27, 2023) – A 17-year-old boy suffered critical injuries in a hit-and-run crash near North Harbor Drive and North Pacific Street late Monday evening.
 
The crash happened just before 11:30 p.m. on January 23. According to the Oceanside Police Department, first responders found the victim unresponsive in the parking lot of Pay Lot 10. He appeared to have been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
 
A helicopter took the boy to Scripps La Jolla with life-threatening injuries.
 
Police later located the suspect, a 15-year-old boy, and arrested him.
 
Based on witness statements and physical evidence, it was indicated that both parties were involved in an alcohol induced altercation.
