14-Year-Old Passenger Injured in Winton Go-Kart Crash on Olive Avenue
WINTON, CA (March 15, 2021) — A 14-year-old passenger was injured in a go-kart accident on Olive Avenue near Vine Avenue Saturday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 7:15 p.m. in the 8000 block of Olive Avenue. For unknown reasons, a 15-year-old female driver lost control of a go-kart. As a result, the go-kart struck an almond tree while heading westbound.
Upon impact, the 14-year-old female passenger was ejected from the vehicle and sustained lacerations to her head. Per reports, neither rider had a safety helmet on.
Shortly after, paramedics arrived and airlifted the teen to Valley Children’s Hospital with major injuries.
At this time, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factored into the accident. However, if anyone has more information on this crash, please contact the CHP.
