Teen Xinriu Li Dead in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash near Azusa Avenue and Fairgrove Avenue

 
WEST COVINA, CA (September 1, 2021) — Xinriu Li died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident near Azusa Avenue and Fairgrove Avenue.
 
According to authorities, the fatal accident happened around 7:35 p.m. Sunday. Under unknown circumstances, a driver described as a juvenile struck 13-year-old Li, of West Covina. Unfortunately, the driver left the scene, leaving her with grave injuries.
 
Due to the nature of the accident, Li died at the crash site, as confirmed by responding authorities who attempted life-saving measures.
 
Days later, detectives arrested the alleged driver, whose name and age were not released. At this time, the driver faces charges of gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI and hit-and-run.
