13-Year-Old Ismael Fuentes Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Avenue 48 at Oasis Street

 
INDIO, CA (May 24, 2022) — Ismael Fuentes died in a pedestrian accident on Avenue 48 at Oasis Street on Sunday night.
 
According to Indio Police, the deadly pedestrian accident happened around 8:22 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck 13-year-old Fuentes, a student at Colonel Mitchell Paige Middle School.
 
As a result, the Indio teen suffered serious injuries and died moments later.
 
Shortly after the accident, authorities arrived at the scene and interviewed the driver of the pickup truck who cooperated with police investigators. Meanwhile, authorities closed the area for about six hours to investigate.
