12 Firefighters, Bystander Hospitalized after Explosion near Rancho California Road

 
TEMECULA, CA (August 18, 2021) — Twelve firefighters and a bystander were evaluated after an explosion near Rancho California Road and Butterfield Stage Road Monday morning.
 
According to Cal Fire-Riverside, the incident happened around 10:30 a.m. Prior to the explosion, a dozen firefighters responded to the scene of a trash truck fire that was pulled over on the side of the road. However, as crews fought the blaze, a propane tank on the vehicle exploded.
 
As a result, paramedics responded. Soon after, they transported a dozen firefighters and a bystander to three different hospitals.
 
At this time, reports have not confirmed if there were any injuries in the incident. Although, if anyone has more to add to this case, please contact the Temecula Police Department.
