Car Crashes into Home on Prescott Road in Modesto Sending Young Girl to Hospital

 
MODESTO, CA (March 1, 2023) – A 10-year-old girl was hospitalized after a pedestrian accident at Prescott Road and Sharon Way in Modesto on Saturday afternoon.
 
The accident happened just after 1:15 p.m. on February 25. According to the Modesto Police Department, a woman attempted to back her vehicle into her garage. When she hit something in the garage, it caused her to accelerate forward and into a garage across the street. The vehicle then struck the child and came to a stop inside the home.
 
The child sustained minor injuries. She was first taken to Memorial Medical Center before being airlifted to a children’s hospital as a precaution.
 
Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with responding authorities.
 
Police are still investigating the accident.
