10-Year-Old Destiny Huanaco, 8-Year-Old Katelyn Huanaco Killed, Elizabeth Nungaray Arrested in DUI Accident on Main Street at Orange Avenue

 
PORTERVILLE, CA (June 22, 2021) — Destiny Huanaco and Katelyn Huanaco died in a DUI accident on Main Street at Orange Avenue Saturday afternoon.
 
According to the Porterville Police, the fatal crash happened around 3:18 p.m. For DUI-related reasons, Elizabeth Nungaray ran a red traffic light and struck an SUV that had the right of way.
 
As a result of the crash, 11-year-old Destiny Huanaco and 8-year-old Katelyn Huanaco, both sisters, died at the scene. Soon after, paramedics brought 4-year-old Sean Huanaco and 13-year-old Ashley Huanaco, their siblings, to Valley Children’s Hospital with major injuries.
 
Meanwhile, police booked Nungaray into the Tulare County Jail on DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges.
