10-Year-Old Angel Hernandez Dead, Raymond Celaya Detained in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Friant Road at Fort Washington Road

 
FRESNO, CA (June 18, 2021) — Angel Hernandez died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Friant Road at Fort Washington Road Thursday night.
 
According to police officers, the fatal crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver struck 10-year-old Hernandez and failed to stop. Soon after, paramedics transported the child to Valley Children’s Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
 
The next day, Fresno Police received a tip about the involved vehicle, which brought them to a residence. Subsequently, officers arrested 62-year-old Raymond Celaya.
