Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries after Hit by Semi Truck on 15 Freeway in San Bernardino

 
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (July 26, 2021) – One person sustained serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on 15 Freeway in San Bernardino Friday evening.
 
The accident happened around 9:43 p.m. on July 23, near Glen Helen Parkway and Sierra Avenue off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking just after the construction zone that was coned off on the southbound freeway.
 
Seconds later, a semi truck hit the pedestrian in the third lane just after the Sierra Avenue on-ramp.
 
Responding paramedics took the pedestrian to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Fontana with serious injuries.
 
The driver of the semi truck remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
The accident remains under investigation. CHP officers asked witnesses to call them at (909) 806-2400.
