1 Person Dies in Overturned Crash on Highway 178 in Lake Isabella

 
LAKE ISABELLA, CA (March 8, 2022) — One person died in an overturned accident on Highway 178 near Elizabeth Norris Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car crash happened on Monday morning. For unknown reasons, a driver heading eastbound on Highway 178 veered off the road. Subsequently, the driver made an abrupt left turn yet lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn down an embankment.
 
At some point during the crash, the driver who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected from the car and died shortly after. As for the passenger, paramedics transported that patient to Kern Medical Center for immediate treatment.
 
At this time, authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs to have played a factor in the accident. However, anyone with more information on this crash should contact the CHP.
