1 Person Hurt in Motorcycle Crash on Broadway in Santa Maria

 
SANTA MARIA, CA (August 16, 2022) — One person was injured in a motorcycle accident on Broadway near Stowell Road on Monday afternoon.
 
According to the Santa Maria Police Department, the motorcycle crash occurred around 1:15 p.m. Upon arriving, Santa Maria police officers and firefighters found a motorcycle rider suffering from major wounds after crashing into a vehicle.
 
Paramedics brought the victim to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
All drivers involved stayed and cooperated with police investigators.
 
At this time, officers do not believe alcohol or drugs played a part in the leading cause of the accident. However, they do suspect that speed might have contributed to the cause.
