1 Person Killed in Compton Pedestrian Crash on 91 Freeway

 
COMPTON, CA (August 9, 2022) — One person died in a pedestrian accident on the 91 Freeway near Central Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 12:16 a.m. on Monday. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck a person on the westbound Gardena Freeway at Central Avenue.
 
Subsequently, the driver contacted California Highway Patrol to report the accident.
 
Soon after, paramedics and officers responded to the scene, but the pedestrian died soon after.
 
At this time, investigators do not know the details before the crash. However, if anyone has seen this accident, please call the California Highway Patrol.
