1 Person Killed in Pedestrian Crash on 15 Freeway in Barstow
BARSTOW, CA (November 7, 2022) — One person died in a pedestrian accident on the 15 Freeway near Outlet Center Drive on Thursday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 12:22 a.m. For unknown reasons, a pedestrian was walking in the slow lane of traffic. Subsequently, an oncoming driver struck the pedestrian, drawing CHP officers to the scene soon after.
Upon arriving, CHP officers found the unresponsive victim in the No. 3 lane. After repeated CPR efforts, medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The crash left a big rig and a silver Toyota Corolla pulled over to the side so that their drivers could see whether metal debris struck their vehicles.
During the investigation, CHP officers noticed a white Mercedes-Benz S600 sedan near the exit, which police suspected might have belonged to the pedestrian.
