1 Officer Hurt, 2-Car Accident During Traffic Stop on McKinley Avenue in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (December 23, 2022) — One officer was injured in a 2-car crash during a traffic stop on McKinley Avenue near Highway 168.
 
According to Fresno Police, the two-vehicle crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday. When an officer found a driver in a white car causing a minor traffic violation, the officer tried to make a traffic stop. However, the driver ran a red light and failed to pull over. As the police tried to pursue the driver, the patrol vehicle struck another car coming off Highway 168.
 
One officer suffered unknown injuries and required hospital care. The other one appeared to be okay, as well as the driver exiting the highway.
 
As of now, the driver of the white car is still on the loose. If anyone has more information on the driver or the vehicle’s whereabouts, please call Fresno Police.
