1 Dies in Los Angeles Solo-Car Crash, Fire on Maple Avenue

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 4, 2022) — One person died in a solo-car crash and fire on Maple Avenue near 16th Street on Tuesday.
 
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the deadly single-car accident happened around 3:35 p.m. Upon arriving, firefighters found a vehicle on fire near a commercial building and the Santa Monica (10) freeway.
 
Although firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, they found a person dead inside the vehicle.
 
In the investigation, Los Angeles police learned that the driver struck a wooden electrical pole following a crash with another car.
