Fiery Crash on Highway 18 in Pinon Hills Leaves 1 Dead and Injures Several Others

 
PINON HILLS, CA (May 25, 2023) – One person died and several others were injured after a fiery accident on Highway 18 northwest of Pinon Hills early Sunday morning on May 21.
 
The fatal accident happened around 1:12 a.m. at the intersection with Highway 138. According to the California Highway Patrol, a gray sedan and a black sedan collided causing one of the cars to catch fire.
 
People at the scene attempted to pull one person out of the burning car, but unsuccessful.
 
That person inside the burning car was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office withheld the victim’s identity at this time.
 
A child and an adult were critically injured. Another child had minor injuries. They were airlifted to a hospital for proper treatment.
 
Another adult and third child with minor injuries were transported to a hospital by ground ambulance.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
