1 Killed, Multiple Injured in Bus Accident on 80 Freeway at Newcastle Road [Auburn, CA]

Pickup Truck Crashes into Bus on 80 Freeway in Auburn Killing 1 and Injuring Several Others

 
AUBURN, CA (February 6, 2023) – One person died and several others were injured in a bus accident on 80 Freeway in Auburn Saturday afternoon on February 4.
 
The fatal accident happened around 12:17 p.m. at New Castle Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Dodge pickup truck was traveling eastbound when for unknown reasons, it crashed into the bus.
 
The impact caused the truck to crash into the center divider. It then rolled over and hit four other vehicles traveling westbound on the freeway.
 
Sadly, the driver of the Dodge truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the other vehicles had minor injuries.
 
At this time, the identity of the deceased was not immediately known.
 
The cause and factors of the crash are still under investigation.
