1 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Accident on 215 Freeway [Riverside, CA]

Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident on 215 Freeway near Columbia Avenue in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (May 20, 2022) – One person died in a multi-vehicle accident on 215 Freeway, early Thursday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on May 19 at about 5:00 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, multiple vehicles collided on northbound 215 Freeway near Columbia Avenue.
 
Emergency crews later pronounced one victim dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
As per reports, none of the people involved needed hospitalization. However, it is unknown if other injuries were sustained in the collision.
 
Meanwhile, responders temporarily closed some lanes to make way for an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
