Wrong-Way Crash on 10 Freeway in Downtown LA Kills 1, Leaves 3 in Critical Condition
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, CA (October 21, 2023) – One person died and three other people were critically injured after a wrong-way crash on 10 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles early Thursday morning.
The fatal crash happened around 4:40 a.m. on October 19, near the eastbound 60 Freeway interchange. According to the CHP, a white vehicle was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of 10 Freeway when it struck a black sedan.
Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded and pronounced the driver of the white vehicle dead at the scene. The driver’s identity was not immediately available.
Three people in the black car were severely injured. Paramedics rushed them to a hospital in critical condition.
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol was factor. Further investigation is underway.
