Hit-and-Run Crash on Manchester Avenue in Florence Kills 1 Pedestrian and Injures Another

 
FLORENCE, CA (November 8, 2021) – One person was killed and another suffered injuries after a pedestrian hit-and-run crash on Manchester Avenue in the Florence area of Los Angeles.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:15 p.m. on Friday, November 5 at Avalon Boulevard. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspect’s car was heading east on Manchester Avenue and making a northbound turn onto Avalon Boulevard. It the collided with another car traveling west on Manchester Avenue.
 
The collision caused one of the vehicles to rotate counterclockwise and collide with two pedestrians who were standing on the northwest corner of Manchester Avenue and Avalon Boulevard.
 
As a result, one of the pedestrians suffered blunt force trauma and died at the hospital.
 
The other pedestrian only sustained minor injuries.
 
The suspect fled the scene without rendering aid to the victims, police said.
 
At this time, police are still investigating and on the lookout for the hit-and-run suspect.
