Fatal ATV Accident on Red Mountain Road near Confusion Hill in Northern Mendocino

 
MENDOCINO, CA (September 23, 2021) – One person died in an ATV accident on Red Mountain Road, late Tuesday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on September 21 shortly after 4:00 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, an ATV became involved in a crash in the area of Cat Track Road/BLM Road 10, just east of Confusion Hill.
 
Emergency crews pronounced one person dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
As per reports, two other people were involved in the accident. One injured victim was later transported to the hospital, while the other person did not sustain injuries.
 
CHP continues to investigate the circumstances that led to the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
