Man Killed in Head-On Car Accident on Highway 12 near Arnold Drive in Santa Rosa

 
SANTA ROSA, CA (September 6, 2022) – A 66-year-old man was killed in a head-on car accident on Highway 12 on Monday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on September 5 at about 2:30 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, an eastbound Mercedes drifted into oncoming traffic.
 
Then, the Mercedes collided head-on with a Subaru near Arnold Drive. The impact of the crash caused the Subaru to overturn and land on its roof.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the Subaru driver dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, officers transported the Mercedes driver to a hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
