1 Killed, 1 Airlifted after Head-On Accident on Highway 41 [Madera County, CA]

Fatal Head-On Car Accident on Highway 41 near Avenue 15 in Madera County

 
MADERA COUNTY, CA (September 16, 2022) – One person died in a head-on accident on Highway 41 on Thursday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on September 15 at about 8:00 a.m. A Dodge Ram was reportedly trying to merge or pass traffic in the northbound lane. After that, the pickup truck hit a Toyota Corolla near Avenue 15.
 
The impact of the crash sent the Corolla to the southbound lanes, where it collided head-on with a BMW.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the driver of the Corolla dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, a medical helicopter transported the driver of the BMW to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.
 
As per reports, the pickup truck driver did not sustain injuries.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident.
