1 Injured, Big Rig Crashes Into Vehicle on Highway 162 in Willows

 
WILLOWS, CA (October 27, 2022) — One person was hurt after a big rig crashed into a car on Highway 162 at County Road D.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the big rig accident happened on October 18 around 2:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 22-year-old Freightliner driver, identified as S. Rai, of Yuba City, reportedly came to a stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Highway 162 and County Road D.
 
However, Rai continued northbound and struck the left rear of a westbound vehicle carrying 30-year-old M. Cohan and her two young children.
 
Soon after, the authorities and paramedics responded to find Cohan complaining of pain and other minor injuries.
 
At this time, CHP officers do not suspect alcohol to have played a role in the accident. However, an investigation into the crash should clarify any ambiguous information. Those with information should call the California Highway Patrol.
