Vehicle Overturns after Hit-and-Run on Broadway near H Street in Chula Vista

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (March 22, 2022) – One person needed hospitalization following a hit-and-run accident on Broadway, early Monday morning.
 
According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the incident happened on March 21 at about 12:45 a.m. A white Kia sedan reportedly attempted to pull onto Broadway. Then, a Jeep Grand Cherokee collided with the front of the Kia near H Street.
 
The impact of the collision caused the Jeep to overturn in the 500 block of Broadway.
 
Witnesses claimed that the driver of the Jeep exited the overturned vehicle and fled the scene on foot. As per reports, the fleeing driver left behind an injured passenger.
 
Paramedics transported the passenger to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the Kia driver did not sustain injuries.
 
Chula Vista police found a box of beer and empty beer bottles inside the Jeep. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
