One Hurt after Two Semi-Trucks Collide on Highway 101 in Gaviota

 
GAVIOTA, CA (August 23, 2022) — One driver was injured after two big rigs crashed on Highway 101 near Mariposa Reina on Monday.
 
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the two-vehicle collision occurred around 10:56 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver of a semi-truck transporting a utility pole on a flatbed collided with another semi-truck hauling a refrigerated trailer.
 
As a result of the crash, one driver required hospital transportation to Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital. Authorities had to block one lane of the two-lane highway due to the investigation and cleanup. However, by 1:30 p.m., traffic resumed to normal conditions.
 
As of now, authorities have not pinpointed the primary cause of the crash. Although, they did learn about the foggy conditions at the time of the accident. If anyone can help with this crash, please call the California Highway Patrol.
