Driver Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash at 12th Avenue in Hanford

HANFORD, CA (June 25, 2024) — One person died in a multi-car accident at 12th Avenue and Flint Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle crash happened around 10:45 a.m. Friday. For an unknown reason, a 26-year-old driving a 2006 Chevrolet northbound on 12th Avenue failed to stop behind a 2012 Mazda slowing down for traffic. Subsequently, the 2006 Chevrolet struck the right rear of the 2012 Mazda, pushing it into the southbound lanes where it plowed into a 2024 Mazda head-on. Meanwhile, the 2006 Chevrolet traveled north and sideswiped another car.

Moments later, paramedics responded and confirmed the male driver of the 2012 Mazda deceased. Officials have yet to release his name.

Authorities confirmed that neither alcohol nor drugs factored into the cause. However, they are looking into the details.
